Died April 5, 1922
Co I, 18th Regiment, Indiana Infantry
A precious one from us is gone,
A voice we loved is stilled,
A place is vacant in our home,
Which never can be filled.
God in his wisdom, has recalled
The boon his love as given,
And though the body slumbers here,
The soul is safe in Heaven.

George Washington Trisler Jr.

George W. Trisler was the son of George W. Trisler and Nancy A. Wire. His father was a full blood German who had lived until he was five years of age in a German settlement along Jessamine Creek just out of Nicholasville,Jessamine County,KY. But people moved then, as now, and son George was born in Rockport, Spencer County, IN. They were farmers as were their ancestors before them. Their land lay not too far from the Ohio River. George had no formal education and learned to read and write after he became a Minister of the Gospel. He was an old-fashioned Pentecostal preacher. He preached in tent revivals, brush arbors, back yards, living rooms, as well as in Churches. He married Dillie Crippen in 1900 and they became parents of eleven children. Raising nine of them to adulthood.
