Joseph C Rempe and Anna Olliges first lived north of Ponca City where Helena and Victor were born. A few years later he moved the family to some rented farm ground across the pasture from his Uncle Charley (Stuever) in the same section. Victor, who was two, died there. Helen remembers his funeral service seeing him in a little box with pennies on his eyes. She kept trying to get the pennies off his eyes. She remembers when they took him to the cemetery, her parents were riding in a buggy and her mother was holding the little box containing her younger brother.
