Carl Floyd Lewallen

Carl Floyd "Bud" Lewallen, 75, of Mooresville, passed away on June 3, 2019 with his loving family by his side. He was born on May 6, 1944 to Carl S. Lewallen and Carmen L. (Bailey) Lightfoot in Dearborn, MI.

He graduated from Decatur Central High School in 1962 where he was co-captain of the football team, Secretary/Treasurer of the letterman's club, drama club, President of student Council, yearbook and Hi-Y club.

He married Joyce Lynn (Gay) Lewallen on June 12, 1965.

Bud is survived by his loving wife of nearly 54 years, Joyce Lynn Lewallen of Mooresville; a loving son, Doug (Tiffany) Lewallen of Greenwood; a loving daughter, Shelley (Mike) Smith of Mooresville; four loving grandchildren, Zeke Neihart of Greenwood, Jimmy Smith of Mooresville, Sarah Smith of Mooresville, Emme Lewallen of Greenwood; loving mother, Carmen Lightfoot of Indianapolis; two favorite nieces, Charlene Ferrel of IL, Terry Clark of IL; and dear life long friends, Bud and Gloria Hopkins and family.

He is preceded in death by his father, Carl S. Lewallen.

Before retiring in 2012, Bud was Chief of Security and Emergency Response for Allison Gas Turbine/Rolls-Royce in Indianapolis for 46 years.

He also co-owned Pennzoil Express Lube in Mooresville for five years. He enjoyed scuba diving, history, especially World War II history, and photography. He loved spending time, particularly vacation time, with his family and friends.

He lived in Indianapolis since 1961 and lived in his birthplace of Dearborn, MI for 11 years.
