Carmen Lucille Lightfoot, 97, Mooresville, passed away December 11, 2020. Carmen was born February 1, 1923, to the late Verbie (Manley) and John Bailey.
She married Carl S. Lewallen and had her only child and beloved son, Carl F. “Buddy” Lewallen on May 6, 1944.
Carmen lived the majority of her life in Southern, Illinois, but spent the last 12 ½ years living with her son Buddy and his wife, Joyce, in Mooresville, Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her parents and step-father, Dave Bush; her brother, Rollie Bailey and sisters, Jessie Carter, Joann Gibbs, and Dixie Carrigan; her husbands, Carl Spencer Lewallen and Lester Lightfoot; and her only son, Carl Floyd “Buddy” Lewallen.
She leaves behind two grandchildren, John Douglas Lewallen and his wife, Tiffany and a granddaughter, Michelle Dawn Lewallen-Smith and her husband, Mike. She also had two great grandsons, Jimmy Smith and Zeke Neihart and two great granddaughters, Sarah Smith and Emme Lewallen. She also had many nieces, nephews, including Charlene Ferrell and Terry Clark.
Carmen had a special love for animals, especially dogs. She loved to travel, crochet and spend time with her beloved family and friends. She will be greatly missed and always loved by her family who has so many wonderful memories.
Visitation will not be observed. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, December 16, 2020, 11 a.m., in West Newton Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Morgan County Humane Society. Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory is serving the family
