Norman was the eldest child of Ruby Houston Horrine and Carl Gammons of Trimble County, Kentucky. He proudly served his country in World War 2. He was amongst the troops who stormed the beaches of Normandy, on D-Day. He was married to Hazel Rowlett, eldest daughter of Ruby and Prentice Rowlett of Bedford, Kentucky. They had 5 children: Robert Douglas, Carolyn Sue, Shelley Lynn, Ramona Ruth and Susan Renee. He passed away in New Albany, Indiana, were he had lived for many decades. He leaves 5 children, 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren and many extended relatives.
